IEC 60320: appliance couplers

Male — Appliance inlet (C2, C14, C20...)
On the equipment. Pins, recessed in a shroud, dead until the cord is on.
Female — Power connector (C1, C13, C19...)
On the cord. Holes — and it's the live end, which is exactly why it has no exposed metal.

Odd numbers are female; the mating male is the next number up (C13→C14). The Configuration column draws female left, male right.

Apparent power is derived (V × A) — IEC 60320 rates current and voltage only. It's volt-amperes, not watts, and the cord's gauge is usually the tighter limit.
